A common misconception on the internet is that eating fruit is the same as eating table sugar and can lead to weight gain; this is also a myth. People have tended to focus on the ‘sugar’ content of fruit but not on the other benefits like providing vitamins, fiber, and water. For there to be health benefits consuming fruits, you have to eat a tremendous amount. Aim for at least 3-5 portions of fruit per day. Choose whole fruits and before fruit juice since they have more fiber and provide more fullness to your diet.
